Depp should be the riddler and the riddler should be the joker!

December 1, 2009

A little confusing right.  Just a thought on what could take place in the next batman.  I was thinking that it might be cool if the Riddler was actually a major part of this movie.  It could go down like this.  Gotham keeps getting these major crimes that go down and the criminals sign is a riddle.  Ok thats standard riddler stuff right!  Heres the twist.

As the movie draws out you never get to see the riddler.  All the goons and maybe a second big villain are all over the place, but they are all puppets to the riddler.   Later on Batman gets closer and closer to the riddler,  He keeps getting lured in by him is more or less how it is.  Its a creepy sinical movie where batman realises that the riddler has been the joker the entire time.  But its too late.  Even the entire dark knight movie including the jokers death was part of his plan to make him think hes dead etc.

Batmans Origins

November 29, 2009

With so many comics and movies to look through, it is a very hard task to come up with a rundown on how batman came to be. Batman has so many spinoffs that finding out the full detailed history is something only the original writers might know. That being said a general idea can be gained from most of the films or the early comics.

Batman or Bruce Wayne was son of a very rich Thomas Wayne and it wasn’t until one horrific night after a cinema that the young waynes path in life would be set into a new direction.. While coming home from a cinema, the Wayne family found itself in the worst part of Gothem city, an area known as crime alley. This is where bruces life would suddenly shift directions. In this Crime alley, Bruce’s family would be robbed and right in front of his very eyes, by an unkown thief. It would have been easy enough for the mugger to just take the families belongings but decided to kill them as well right in front of the young Bruce while leavin him at their side. After the death of his family young Bruce had noone to turn to but his loyal butler Alfred who now was basically a father to him.

At a very young age Bruce left Alfred and Wayne manor on a mission to learn everything he could to get revenge for the death of his parents. Young Wayne was gone several years, and went many places to learn his skills. He studied everything from fighting styles to forensics in an effort to make him the ultimate revenge driven detective. After his journey Wayne didn’t waste any time with his need for revenge. In the beginning he had no disquise or special tools. Because of his rush into the streets he was almost killed by the ones he was trying to help. He had no edge in Gothem City and while sitting at home beaten and bloody one night a bat crashed into the window. This gave him an idea. The fear of the bat would be able to give him the advantage he needed. This is how the Batman came to be.

Immediately he began working on his ideas. Below his home he started developing his base. Alfred, being the only one who knew of all of this helped out with guidance. He tended to Bruce’s mental state along with keep him healthy and helping him with the business. A new Gothem city was beginning to thrive as The Dark knight had been able to slowly bring crime down to the very little. . Police Commisioner Gordan Became one of Batmans allies as the police force had become to dirty for the bat to work with and Gordan was the only one he believed not to have fallen into the dirty cop era. Together they were set to rid Gothams Streets of crime. This is the Batman most of you have come to know.

Holy Batman Movies

November 20, 2009

I was looking aroun on one of the batman sites I frequent, looking for news and they had added a new post or a list more or less of a bunch of batman movies.  The list was pretty big and not finished.  I had no clue that there were that many batman films out there.  Granted many of the movies were cartoons but there was over 30.

Just goes to show how big the super heroe is.    I wonder how many superman films there are.  Just a note, some of the films were foreign and some were basically comic books issues put on film.  Not really sure where Id be able to get some of these either but if anyone knows comment back.

Jack Nicholsons Joker overrated! Huh?

September 10, 2009

I happened to be on a forum the other day when I came across a thread talking about the different actors that have been played throughout the history of batman.  I was reading along and there were some pretty good thoughts, when I read someones comment about Batman 1989.  The poster was talking about how the animated Joker with the voice of Mark Hammil was in his opinion the best portrayal of the Joker. (Ok thats fine although I have a hard time with giving portrayals of a character that much credit if they are just doing the voice)  He or she then went on to say that Nicholsons Joker was the most overrated ever.  Wow, did I read that right.  I hope im not the only one who thinks otherwise.  Jacks performance, voice and perfect maneurisms were  in my opinion almost unbeatable.  How could someone think it was overrated.  I can understand that judgement can be biased because of the directing especially when comparing movie to movie.  I think Burton did great but it was a completely different type of film.  I can only imagine what kind of performance Nicholson would have done if he was under the direction of Nolan.  That being said I give full credit to Ledger and his performance but I feel Jack would have been right there in that film as well.  Probably noone else but Johnny Depp or Jack could have played the part that well.

Will Catwoman make the cut!

September 8, 2009

With everything that has happened to the Batman movie anything is possible for the next movie.  Selina Kyle is now the main focus of all the rumors and there are several possible ideas that are in the mix. There is no proof that there will even be a Catwoman in the next film, yet huge names such as Cher, Angelina Jolie and Megan Fox are being cast as the next Selina Kyle.

This could all lead to some serious hype for the next movie. This may or may not be a good thing because part of the issues that Nolan has with even doing another Batman is that it will have a hard time living up to the hype. With all the extra comotion, Nolan might reject the notion of another film.

For this film to be great, it won’t need super actors, it already has a pretty good group. It is going to have to keep Nolan.

Is Catwoman the only option, a lot of fans seem to think so and heres why. Catwoman is very popular, she has been featured in most Batman related media.   She has been played previously by actresses Julie Newmar, Lee Meriwether, and Eartha Kitt who introduced her to a large audience on the 1960s Batman television series and the 1966 Batman motion picture. Michelle Pfeiffer portrayed the character in 1992′s Batman Returns. Halle Berry was the latest and starred in a stand-alone Catwoman film in 2004.

All this being said, the stars mentioned as the next catwoman have not even been signed, most likely not even approached. Plus the fact remains that Catwoman might not even be in the next one. Other actors like Johnny Depp have been suggested for playing parts like the riddler.  With all the rumors and hype on the next film, we will most likely have to wait to find the truth.
